My daughter is disabled and needs help showering . She and my husband will be staying at the wilderness lodge campground. Are the showers in a format that he can go with her to help her? Or are they divided into men’s and women’s showers? Just planning…

Howdy, Elizabeth! I'm mighty happy you moseyed over to planDisney today. Your husband and daughter have an adventure coming up soon, so let's look at the facilities they'll have access to during their stay at the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.

The convenient Comfort Stations located throughout the campground are divided into men's and women's facilities, so depending on your daughter's age, that might not work. So I reached out to a friendly cowpoke Cast Member named Lori for suggestions on how your husband can help her get neat and pretty during their stay.

She recommended that you contact the Services for Guests with Disabilities team as soon as possible. You'll find a link to their email near the bottom of this page. You can explain what your daughter needs in terms of facilities, and the disabilities team should work with Fort Wilderness Resort to provide suggestions. This page also has tips and ideas, divided by disability type, that might be useful for your family's theme park adventures.

As an additional tip, you'll find family restrooms located at Pioneer Hall and at the Meadow Swimmin' Pool. So your husband can keep that in mind as they're planning their days at "The Fort." These family-friendly restrooms do not offer showers, but they might be a possible spot to freshen up.

My husband and I stayed in a cabin at Fort Wilderness last year, and now it's one of our favorite spots! We had a blast roasting marshmallows at Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-long, and we enjoyed taking boat transportation to Magic Kingdom Park. I hope your family has a practically perfect time, too!

Elizabeth, I'm wishing on a star and sprinkling pixie dust your way so that this vacation is a real hootenanny! Please stop by planDisney anytime, partner.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
