Can I use my vacation points to make reservations at Grand Californian hotel

    Hey Howdy Hey, Jeejy,

You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney.  Thank you for stopping by with your question.  How exciting that you are thinking of using your Disney Vacation Club Points to stay at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel.  I love this beautiful Disney Vacation Club property. Not only are you immersed in the gorgeous craftsman-style elegance of this gorgeous hotel, but you can even enter Disney's California Adventure theme park right from the hotel.

Jeejy, you can use your available Disney Vacation Club Points to book Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, provided you have no restrictions on your Membership. As a reminder, you can book your Home Resort beginning 11 months prior to your desired check-in date.  All other Disney Vacation Club Resorts can be booked beginning 7 months prior to your desired check-in date.

To book the Resort, you can log into your Disney Vacation Club account on the DVC website. Go to "My DVC" and then select "My Dashboard." Scroll to where it says "Plan My Next Vacation" and enter in your dates for your vacation.  If there is availability at Disney's Grand Californian, it will show up on the list. You can also filter by location (in this case Disneyland.)

Here's a tip, Jeejy. If you don't see availability on your first try for your desired dates, I recommend checking back daily and even a couple of times a day within your booking window. In my experience, availability changes regularly as Guests' plans change or they are moved off Waitlists.  In fact, I have found it can change within the same day, which is how I booked my last Disney Vacation Club Resort.

If you would like to put yourself on the Waitlist (should you not see availability in your booking window) you can do so. Just keep in mind that if you join a Waitlist, and you are moved off the Waitlist, you will be automatically confirmed into that room.  Any other Resort booking you have over that same period will be automatically canceled.

I hope this helps you, Jeejy. If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back here to see us and we'll be so happy to help you.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
