How do you book a hotel room with DVC points

    Hey There, Hi There, Linda!

You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney! I love helping fellow Disney Vacation Club neighbors plan their next stay at Disney or beyond.  As a Disney Vacation Club Member for the last 22 years, Membership has made flexible and affordable family vacations possible, year after year.  Whether it has been to Disney Resorts or beyond, Disney Vacation Club has made our family travel dreams come true.

Linda, if you are looking to use your eligible Disney Vacation Club Points to book a Disney Vacation Club Resort, there are a few things to note.  You can use your Membership to book your Home Resort beginning 11 months from your check-in date.  If your Membership is not restricted, other Disney Vacation Club Resorts can be booked beginning seven months from your desired check-in date.

To do this, you can visit the Disney Vacation Club website and log in to your account.  Scroll to the tab that says "My DVC" and select "My Dashboard." From here, you can scroll down to where it says "Plan Your Next Vacation" and put in the dates for which you would like stay at a Disney Vacation Club Resort.  If you are within the 11 month booking window for your Home Resort, you can select your Home Resort to see availability and Vacation Points cost per night per room type for this Resort.  When you are in the seven month booking window for all other Disney Vacation Club Resorts, you can check their availability and Vacation Point per night cost per room type.

Here's a tip for you, Linda.  If you don't see availability for your dates on your first try, keep checking back daily, and even a few times per day.  I have found that availability changes daily - and sometimes within the same day - as Guests change their plans or get moved off Waitlists, which changes Resort availability.

Now, if you are hoping to use your Disney Vacation Club Points to stay at a Disney Resort Hotel that is NOT a Disney Vacation Club Resort, this is a different process.  First, I recommend visiting the Disney Vacation Club website and scrolling to the tab that says "Destinations" and then select "Disney Resort Hotels Near and Far."  From here, you can select which Disney destination you would like to explore and then review the list of Resort Hotels.  You can also see the Points Charts for how many Reservation Points each costs per night. This is what your Vacation Points are called once converted to be able to be used at a non-DVC Resort.  If you are ready to book one of these Resorts, you can call DVC Member Services who can convert your Vacation Points into Reservation Points, check availability, and then make the booking for you.

For hotels not associated with Disney, this process is done through DVC's partnership with Interval International.  You can connect to their page through the Disney Vacation Club website by going to "Destinations" and selecting "Hotel Exchange" under Worldwide Exchanges.  Hotels are organized by destination and there are specific properties available to be booked through this program.  But once you find the destination of your dreams, call Member Services who will convert your Disney Vacation Club Points into Reservation Points and can assist you with the booking.

I hope this helps you, Linda! Stop back if you have more questions.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
