We have booked 4 nights at the Wilderness Lodge and 2 park tickets. Do I have to decide which parks on which days ahead of time? Or do we just scan our ticket at the park day of?

    Hey Howdy Hey, Laura!

Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for galloping by with your question. How exciting that you are planning ahead for your upcoming stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort and two park days.  Like you, I like to mix and match a little theme park time with Resort days and non-theme park Disney activities, like visiting Disney's Water Parks. It's a great way to maximize the magic of your vacation and soak in all that Disney has to offer.

Laura, if you purchased two-day tickets that are date-based - meaning you entered a starting date for your tickets - you do NOT need to make a Theme Park Reservation. This means that you do not have to decide which theme park you will be visiting in advance.  With these tickets, you choose a start date and you have a window of time in which to use the tickets (they do not have to be on consecutive days.) For example, if I purchased a two-day Single Park ticket or a two-day Park Hopper ticket with a start date of March 13th, I have until March 16th to use the two tickets and can use them on any two days within that window.

If you have undated tickets, including but not limited to an Annual Pass, Military tickets, etc., then you WILL have to make a Theme Park Reservation in advance for whichever parks you will visit.  Also, if you purchase a one-day ticket, it often asks for which park you are purchasing the ticket for as the ticket prices for one-day tickets vary for each park.

You can always check to see if you need a reservation by visiting the Theme Park Reservation page and following the instructions. If you don't need one, it will let you know.

Since you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, if you would like to purchase Lightning Lane Multipasses and/or Lightning Lane Single Passes for one or both of your park days, you can do so and make your initial selections for your Multipass beginning 7 days in advance of your check-in date.  In this case, you will want to decide which park(s) you will be visiting ahead of time, as the Multipass Lightning Lane advance selections are done per park. You can use your Lighting Lane Multipass in a second park if you are park hopping once you arrive at that second park; however, you can't make initial reservations (the ones before you arrive) in more than one park for the same day.

I hope this helps you, Laura. If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, giddy-up back here and I'll be so happy to round-up an answer for you.  After all, you've got a friend in me.

    Happy Trails,
    Keri
