Welcome Home, Dena - and welcome to planDisney! There's not much I enjoy more than yapping about all things
Disney Vacation Club, and I will be delighted to tell you everything you need to know to use your
Vacation Points for a future stay at
Walt Disney World Resort. Let's get right down to business so you can hopefully hop on a reservation for September!
When we were doing our homework about joining DVC a decade ago (where does the time go, Dena?!), one thing that stood out to us was the flexibility to use points in many different ways. Rather than a traditional timeshare where you might be locked into a single resort every year, DVC Members can use their points to stay at any DVC resort, as well as the
Disney Collection Hotels at Walt Disney World, Disneyland in California, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and Tokyo Disney Resort!
Hotel stays are booked through a points exchange, where you exchange your Vacation Points for Reservation Points. Your first stop should be the
Points Charts for the Disney Collection hotels - scroll down to the Walt Disney World resorts, which are categorized by Value, Moderate, and Deluxe accommodations. This will give you an idea of how far your points will go for a stay this fall.
Once you have a plan for your points, contact
Member Services for a friendly assist. The Cast Members there will handle the transaction to convert your vacation points to reservation points and can make the booking for you. Keep in mind that an exchange carries a one-time, non-refundable fee (currently $95, subject to change).
Dena, I hope this information is just what you need so you can enjoy a well-deserved vacation in September! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, and please come back and see us again anytime if we can help with other questions to add a little extra pixie dust to your next Disney adventure.
Stay Magical!
Susan
