Welcome Home, Patricia, and welcome to planDisney! It's always the best day ever when I get to make the acquaintance of a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member, and I will be more than happy to share all the details you need to use your Membership for a dreamy voyage with
Disney Cruise Line. Grab your sunscreen, and let's dive right in!
Over our years as DVC Members, we've been able to use our
Vacation Points for so many amazing experiences, from hearing our first "Welcome Home" at
Aulani in Hawaii to memorable trips with friends and family in many locations beyond our Home Resort, including at sea on DCL. The flexibility to use your Membership how it works best for you is my favorite part of DVC!
Patricia, you can exchange your Vacation Points for Reservation Points to use for a cruise. The
Points Charts will break it down by destination, sailing dates, and accommodation type so you can see exactly what you can do with your points. It's important to know that one Guest in your stateroom must be paid for completely with points, and then you can use cash or points for the other individuals. The all-points Guest can be an infant or a child, who will use fewer points than an adult.
Once you've settled on the perfect cruise, contact
Member Services. They will handle the transaction to convert your points to Reservation Points and make your cruise booking. Keep in mind that the points exchange carries a one-time, non-refundable fee (currently $95, subject to change).
While you're at sea, be sure to keep an eye on the ship's itinerary for some additional DVC fun! Many sailings offer a Member Celebration near the beginning of the voyage, which is a really fun way to start the trip and meet other Members. You can also visit the ship's DVC desk daily to receive some Members-only swag, and your Member discount will apply in many onboard shops. I always recommend taking a peek at the
Member Benefits section of the DVC website to make sure you are up-to-date on any deals and discounts that you can use during your trip.
Well, Patricia, I hope this information is just what you need to book a practically perfect Disney cruise in the not-so-distant future! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney - please come back and see us again anytime if we can help with other questions to add a little extra pixie dust to your travels.
Stay (and Sail!) Magical,
Susan
