When using rider swap WITH lightening lane passes, everyone will have a pass but one will have to stay with the non rider infant. Does the rider from group A that will ride again with the person in group B need another lightening lane pass?

    Hey Courtney,

Welcome to planDisney! You’re heading to Walt Disney World very soon, and I’m so excited for you. It sounds like you’re traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth with at least one tiny Mouseketeer in tow. I’ve been there! My youngest son’s very first visit to Disney World was when he was just 9 months old. So far, he is holding the record for the youngest Disney Parks visitor in our family. We are a tribe of thrill seekers, so we learned all about using Rider Switch during that visit. Let’s jump in so I can show you how it works.

Rider Switch is a great solution for Disney guests traveling with small children who don’t meet the height requirements for certain attractions. Since you’re using Rider Switch with Lightning Lane passes, your first order of business will be to book Lightning Lane passes for the attraction you’ll be using the service for - yes you will need to book it for all guests who plan to ride, even those from the second rider group. Everyone who plans to ride needs a Lightning Lane pass. Next, you’ll head to the Lightning Lane queue of that attraction and let a cast member know that you’ll be using Rider Switch. Identify who will ride in your first rider group (Party A) and who will ride in your second group (Party B). Note that if Party B only has one rider in it, they can take someone along from Party A so they don’t have to ride alone. My oldest son was always our lucky Party A/B rider - he was able to ride so many cool attractions twice! While Party B waits for their turn, they can hang out with the non-rider and enjoy a snack or check out cool experiences close to the attraction. Once Party A returns, Party B heads to the Lightning Lane queue to scan in and join it. Now everyone has had the chance to experience the attraction.

Courtney, you are super lucky to be visiting Disney World during Cool Kids’ Summer. It’s a special time at the resort, especially if you're visiting with young Mouseketeers. You’ll find cool character interactions, kid-friendly activities and family fun throughout all four theme parks. Be sure to check out the offerings on the Disney Parks Blog. Have a great time, and stop by again to see us if you have additional questions. TTFN… ta-ta for now!
