Hello again, Dorraine!
So happy to be helping you out with another question as you plan for your visit this weekend. I have some good news to share - yes, you and your friend can enter the parks at different times on your park day. You'll just want to make sure you both have access to your individual tickets to ensure a smooth arrival at the Main Entrance Gates. You can do this a few ways, but the easiest, in my opinion, is to link the tickets directly in your
Disneyland Mobile App. I'm happy to walk you through this process!
First things first, you will both need to download the app and create Disneyland accounts. Whoever purchased the tickets has already done this, and the tickets will automatically show up in their app. They can tap the three-line icon at the bottom right-hand corner and select "My Tickets & Passes". Here, you can swipe left to see both tickets along with the barcode for each. To link the tickets to another account, have that Guest navigate to "My Tickets & Passes" as well, but this time tap the "+" in the top right-hand corner. You will see an option to "Link Tickets & Passes". If you are together, you can choose "Camera" and simply scan the barcodes for each ticket, and they should now appear on both phones. If you are not together, you can tap "Type ID" and manually enter the ticket ID, which can be found under the barcode. I know this sounds like a big process, but I promise once you are in the app, it's easy to follow. The benefit to having both tickets on both phones is that if you purchase
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you will both have the capability to book Lightning Lanes for each other and secure the same return windows.
If you'd prefer not to use the app, no problem. Have the Guest who purchased the tickets pull up the ticket confirmation email in their inbox. There will be a button to "Acces eTickets". Tap there, and there should be an option to print hard copies of the tickets, which can be scanned at the Main Entrance Gate. Be sure you have the barcodes clearly printed, and you should be all set!
Now that we've gotten you through the gates, where to next? I mentioned the Lightning Lane Multi Pass - this is a great way to maximize your time in the parks, especially if you have plans to arrive in the afternoon. Lightning Lanes are available at select attractions and allow you to skip the standby queue for faster access. You can use an attraction's Lightning Lane once per day. Before you purchase, you can take a look at which rides offer Lightning Lanes on the website or on the "Tip Board" in the app - there is even an option to toggle your view in the app to only show these specific attractions. If you have your heart set on experiencing
Radiator Springs Racers or
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, while these are not offered in Multi Pass, you can purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for either attraction. These can be purchased on their own or in addition to Multi Pass through the app as soon as you scan into the parks. These options allow you to personalize the magic to make for an unforgettable park day!
