Hello! We have a trip booked to head to Disney May 6th and we will have my mother with us who was diagnosed with ALS last year and has been struggling. She’s inlove with stitch and we wanna try to get her to meet him to give her something to hold onto

Aloha, my friend, and welcome to planDisney! As Experiment 626 himself says, 'Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind. Bringing your mom to Walt Disney World Resort sounds positively magical. Let's catch a gnarly wave and talk about meeting everyone's favorite blue alien while you're here.

While character appearances are subject to change, you're almost always sure to catch Stitch at the Best Friends Breakfast at 'Ohana. This all-you-care-to-enjoy feast at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort features appearances by Lilo and Stitch, who will stop by your table for photos and interactions.

This breakfast is very popular and begins accepting bookings 60 days in advance, so it fills up quickly. I searched and found an opening or two next week for a party of two. Maybe you and your mom could enjoy this fantastic meal together! I also recommend checking availability online or in your mobile app, as guests often change their plans.

Another spot to meet Stitch is at Magic Kingdom Park near Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. That cute and fluffy alien typically meets guests throughout the day for photos and hugs. This area can get warm, so be sure to stay hydrated. My pal Michelle has taught me the relief that an umbrella brings in the Florida sunshine, so maybe pack one for your mom.

You can also typically see Stitch in the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade parade at Magic Kingdom. While he won't be able to spend time with you, it's a fun way to snap photos of that wacky alien.

Finally, there's a new opportunity to meet Stitch up close at Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you or anyone in your party is a Disney Visa Cardmember, you'll show your card and ID to hang loose with Stitch.

When my dad was diagnosed with ALS, we took him on so many adventures. He enjoyed England and the Great Smoky Mountains, and we even visited the White House. Those trips entailed some planning and maneuvering, but the memories we made were priceless. I commend you for making your mom's dreams come true; I promise you'll be glad you did.

My friend, I hope you find mountains of pixie dust on your visit, and please stop by planDisney anytime. We'll take you on a Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
