Jayanta from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We would like to transfer reservations to a different day and for different people. Is that possible?

Greetings, Jayanta, and welcome to planDisney! Are you ready for a sprinkle of pixie dust? Your Disneyland theme park tickets have some built-in flexibility.

As long as your Disneyland theme park ticket hasn’t been used yet, you can pass it along to a friend or family member. You don’t even need to change the name on a standard theme park ticket unless you’d like it to appear differently in the Disneyland mobile app. If you need or prefer to change the name, have the person whose account the tickets were purchased under call the Tickets phone line and ask a Cast Member to assist.

Jayanta, a theme park ticket is assigned to a Guest once it is used to enter a park – at that point, the Cast Member at the main entrance takes a photo and links it to the ticket. That photo serves as identification each time a Guest uses the ticket to re-enter a park, either on the same day or with a multi-day ticket. After that first use, the ticket is nontransferable. Also, just a heads up, tickets cannot be sold per the Terms and Conditions.

If you have a Southern California Resident Ticket, there are a few extra details to keep in mind. A Guest using this ticket must have a valid California driver's license or California ID showing proof of residency within eligible ZIP codes 90000 to 93599. Without that, they could not use the ticket to enter a park.

Now, onto reservations! As a Magic Key holder, I'm familiar with the reservation system and have found it fairly easy to update my plans. To modify an existing reservation, hover over the "My Disneyland" button on the website and click "Theme Park Reservations." From there, click "Make or Modify Park Reservations" to adjust one or more dates tied to a ticket.

You can also update reservations on the app. Tap the plus (+) icon at the bottom of the screen, tap "Make a Park Reservation," and then tap "Make or Modify Park Reservations." From here, you'd scroll to the reservation you want to change, tap "Modify Reservation," select the Guest(s), and finally choose a new date and/or park. Make sure to tap "Confirm" for the change to be processed. I've known Guests who thought they updated their reservation but, in actuality, didn't because they missed the "Confirm" button.

Jayanta, if you still visit in March, you'll be in for a real treat, because the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be underway. This is one of my favorite annual events – you can enjoy delicious food and drinks, special entertainment, fun Character interactions, and the classic Soarin' Over California attraction.

I hope this helps you with your plans, Jayanta. If you have any other questions, please let us know. We at planDisney are happy to help!

    See ya real soon,
