Hi there, Georgia! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. Your visit is just a few days away, and I bet you're eager to get your plans in place. Let's jump right into your question so you can be assured of a smooth magic carpet ride through those Main Entrance Gates.
If you and your friends have
standard theme park tickets, Disneyland asks that
theme park reservations be canceled by 11:59 PM PST the evening before your visit. This can easily be done in the Disneyland app. If you have the tickets for your full party linked to your account, you can do this on your own by tapping the "+" in the bottom navigation bar, selecting "Make a Theme Park Reservation", and choosing the "Make or Modify Park Reservations" button. The next screen will show you all the park reservations you are holding by date along with which Guests have reservations for that day. You will see the option to "Modify Reservation" or "Cancel Reservation", and on the next screen, you will select the specific Guest to modify or cancel. I know this seems like a lot of steps, but I promise it's pretty intuitive once you are in the app and it goes quickly.
Assuming your friend has their ticket linked to their own Disneyland account as well, they will be able to reschedule their reservation on their own for a future date provided the new date is in the same
ticket tier or lower. If there are any specific questions about ticket tiers, I recommend giving the
Guest Services team a call - they will be happy to help!
With regular park tickets, there is no penalty if you happen to forget to cancel or something comes up the morning of your park day and someone in your party can't make it. The cancellation request just frees up the space for another Guest to visit on your park day. If you are
Magic Key holders, there will be a no-show penalty which may limit the ability to make a new reservation if the Guest has 3 no-shows within a 90-day period.
With the timing of your visit, you will get to enjoy the final week of
Celebrate Soulfully, honoring Black history and culture with entertainment offerings throughout the parks and resorts. If you have time, I recommend taking a stroll over to
Pixar Place Hotel in the afternoon or evening where you will see the one and only Joe Gardner from
Soul playing jazz tunes on the piano in the lobby! It's moments like this where the story comes off the screen and into your reality that makes a visit to Disneyland extra special.
I'm wishing you and your friends a magical visit! If you have any more questions while you are planning, please come back to see us here at
planDisney.
Magic awaits!
