Hiya, Chris!
Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you are thinking of maximizing the magic of your Membership by using your Disney Vacation Club Points to stay in dazzling places you never knew. As a Disney Vacation Club Member for the last 22 years, our family has used our Vacation Points for Disney Resort Hotel stays at Walt Disney World and beyond.
Chris, eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can use their Vacation Club Points for stays at Disney Resort Hotels that are not Disney Vacation Club Resorts and for other Disney Destinations, like Disney Cruise Line,
Adventures By Disney, and National Geographic Expeditions. You can transfer your Vacation Club Points to Reservation Points to stay at a Moderate Resort at Walt Disney World. However, to transfer the DVC Points to Reservation Points to book those stays, Member Services has to do this, as some Memberships have restrictions and can't be used for Disney Destinations or
Disney Resorts outside of specific Disney Vacation Club Resorts. If you purchased your Membership directly from Disney, you are most likely eligible to use your Vacation Points for Disney Resort Hotels and Disney Destinations.
You can peruse the
Disney Collection Points Charts to see how many Reservation Points you would need, as these vary per Resort, room category, and time of year. Once you have found the Resort of your dreams, you can call
Member Services, who can check availability, confirm eligibility, convert your Disney Vacation Club Points to Reservation Points, and secure the booking. Please note that there is a non-refundable $95 transaction fee (subject to change) per confirmed Disney Collection booking.
I hope this helps, Chris! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back here to see me, and I'll be so happy to help you.
Magically Yours,
Keri
