Hey there, Ian!
I'm excited to answer another of your fabulous questions. You've made an excellent choice in securing a resort along the
Disney Skyliner for your upcoming vacation. If you've ever watched Disney's
High School Musical, I bet you can guess what song my family likes to sing every time we take flight. That's right, we love "soarin', flyin'..." and double-checking whether or not "there's a star in heaven that we can't reach" as we glide our way to
EPCOT or
Disney's Hollywood Studios. My teens especially love it when I sing loud enough for guests in neighboring gondolas to hear.
But back to your question! Whether you're looking to enjoy a Skyliner sing-a-along or just sail to your theme park of the day in peace (no judgment), you can take flight beginning one hour before
Early Theme Park Entry begins at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios- whichever opens first that day. At the end of the night, the Skyliner runs about 90 minutes after the later of these two parks closes. Hours can vary day to day, and from park to park, so I recommend checking the
Hours & Events Calendar for your specific dates.
One important thing to note is that on nights when EPCOT offers
Extended Evening Hours for guests of Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts, the Skyliner will close one hour after EPCOT closes. However, the route will only run between EPCOT International Gateway and Disney’s Riviera Resort during that time. The remaining route to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Pop Century will be unavailable within that window since those resorts do not qualify for the extended evening perk.
I hope this clears up any confusion! If any travel logistics questions arise during your visit, Cast Members at your resort and at the Skyliner station will be happy to help. I'd also like to mention that it's pretty hard to get stranded at Walt Disney World, as Cast Members can usually work a little magic to get you where you need to go if you make a wrong turn or miss your travel window. Pixie dust isn't guaranteed, but I've been on the receiving end a few times over the years.
Happy travels and see ya' real soon!
Amy
