We have a stroller wagon that is smaller than the max dimensions allowed. Measured 42” long, by 28” wide. Our son is autistic and struggles with regular strollers. Is this size okay?

Hi there, Lenna! Welcome to planDisney. A stroller is essential for my family whenever I visit the parks. For naps, waiting for warm churros, and storing our gear, it’s a well-loved park necessity! Let’s take a look at what can be done to ensure your son’s comfort during your upcoming visit!

According to the Park Rules and Regulations, strollers that are greater than 31" (79 cm) in width and 52" (132 cm) in length are not allowed. Along with that, wagons, including stroller wagons, are not allowed. However, there can be an exception for Guests with disabilities. In this situation, the stroller wagon may qualify as a “Stroller as a Wheelchair,” allowing it to be used in this manner.

Once you arrive at the security checkpoint, I recommend speaking with a Cast Member at Security or even a Cast Member from Guest Relations to explain your son’s situation. You’ll want to keep in mind that these requests are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis, so it’s always a good idea to have a backup plan in place. If you find that you’re unable to bring your stroller wagon, there are strollers available to rent outside the theme parks, just east of the Disneyland Park Main Entrance.

Another thing to consider for your upcoming visit is Disability Access Service (DAS). DAS is one of the services offered at the Disneyland Resort theme parks to help Guests who, due to a developmental disability such as autism or a similar condition, may have difficulty waiting in a traditional queue for an extended period of time.

There are two ways for Guests to connect with a Cast Member to discuss DAS eligibility: through a live video chat or in person at an Accessibility Services Kiosk. Guests can choose to have a conversation with a Cast Member through live video chat as early as 60 days before their park visit. During this conversation, a Cast Member will take the time to speak with the Guest individually, learn more about their needs, and discuss the services and accommodations that may be available to them.

Lenna, thank you so much for visiting planDisney! I hope you find this information helpful as you continue planning your upcoming visit. If you have any more questions until then, planDisney is here for you!
