Hi there Sophie, we’re so glad to see you back here at planDisney!
Based on all of the previous questions that you’ve sent our way, it sounds like you’re looking forward to your stay at the
Waldorf Astoria Orlando and wondering
how getting to and from your hotel will work logistically with
what you want to experience when you
visit the Disney Resort Hotels to enjoy their unique dining locations.
You'll be glad to hear that guests are absolutely welcome to stop by Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and view the wildlife during their visit, especially if you're using
Disney Resort Transportation to do so. It's a great way to spend some time on the savanna before or after a delicious dinner!
- Guests visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge should be aware that if they're arriving in their own vehicle or even being dropped off by a driver, the Parking & Security Cast Members have been known to deny access to those who are unable to present proof of a valid stay at the resort itself or a dining reservation. For this reason, I highly recommend taking the bus just to avoid the possibility of any inconvenience or disappointment at the current time.
- Once you're there, I confirmed with a manager that visitors can take advantage of complimentary activities like enjoying the campfire to roast marshmallows surrounded by the savanna outside Jambo House, explore the African art and beautifully-incorporated details and even learn from the Cultural Representatives who guests can find in the lobbies and overlooks.
- Though it's possible to use complimentary bus transportation from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, I personally find that it may be more convenient for you to take advantage of the Waldorf Astoria Orlando shuttle to head to Disney Springs and take a bus from there. This was available as of our most recent stay, but schedules and offerings are subject to change so you'll want to confirm the most updated shuttle routes once you check in.
If you're interested in the chance to spot some wildlife during your meal, I recommend
making a reservation at Sanaa and requesting a seat right next to the large windows. (We've had some great luck by booking the earliest seating time and arriving early to ask the Cast Members at the host podium about the possibility for a great view by the window!) In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you back at planDisney once again for any other tips or tricks ahead of your upcoming Disney adventures!
Don't forget to try the Zebra Domes!
