I am going to be staying at the Grand Floridian in May and will have a 4 month old at the time. I saw that the fridges in the rooms are more like beverage fridges. Is there is a way to request an actual mini fridge during our stay for breast milk storage?

    Hey there, Elise!

I'm so happy to welcome you back to planDisney, and I appreciate you bringing another question our way! How fun that you'll be visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth this spring! Springtime is one of the most Bibbidi Bobbidi BEAUTIFUL times of year to visit, especially with the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival in full bloom. You're in for such a magical trip!

Staying at the Grand Floridian is a fantastic choice, especially when traveling with a little one! Being able to hop aboard the monorail and quickly whisk away to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT is such a wonderful convenience.

As for the refrigerator in your room, the type you’ll have depends on the accommodations you’ve booked. Standard Guest Rooms at the Grand Floridian come equipped with a beverage cooler, while Disney Vacation Club Members staying in a villa will have an in-room refrigerator.

If you’ll be staying in a room with a beverage cooler and need a traditional mini-fridge, I recommend calling the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line before your arrival. A Cast Member can add your request to your reservation, as mini-fridges are available on a first-come, first-served basis. I’d also recommend stopping by the Front Desk when you arrive to confirm your request and see if one is available.

If, for some reason, a mini-fridge isn’t available or you need additional storage, you have another option! Once you arrive at your Resort, simply stop by the Bell Services Desk and let the Cast Members know you’d like to store your breast milk in a refrigerator or freezer. Just be sure your milk is in proper storage containers, clearly labeled, and sealed inside a waterproof bag. I also recommend packing a few extra zip-top bags from home. They can make transporting your milk to Bell Services each day quick and easy!

Elise, I hope this helps as you continue putting the finishing touches on your vacation! I know how much goes into planning a trip with a little one, and I hope you can relax and enjoy every moment once you arrive. If another question comes to mind as your countdown continues, please come visit us again at planDisney.
