Instruments up, Deana, and welcome to planDisney! I'm heading to a family suite at
Disney's All-Star Music Resort soon, so I'd love to discuss the features of these newly remodeled rooms at
Walt Disney World Resort. I'll try to stay on key when I sing their praises!
Please remember that room configurations can vary, even within categories, so not all features may be present in all room types. Feel free to read some general information about
Accessibility at Disney Resort Hotels.
On the All-Star Music page, choose the
Room Rates tab, scroll to Family Suites, and click on View Photos. Under the photos, you'll see some drop-down options. The first lets you choose to see photos of Accessible or Non Accessible Rooms.
Choose Family Suite from the second drop-down menu, and if you've chosen to view Accessible Rooms, you'll see a long list of the different room types. I currently see three kinds of Accessible Family Suites: wheelchair accessible with a roll-in shower option, hearing accessible with visual alarms and notifications, and Florida accessible rooms.
You can view photos of each to compare with the layout of the Non Accessible Room types. For example, the images of most Accessible Rooms show that one shower is a roll-in, and the kitchen counter allows for a wheelchair. There are probably safety bars and wider doorways, but every layout can differ.
I spoke to a friendly Cast Member who added that the Accessible Rooms might not be on the ground floor since this resort has an elevator. For more information on your reserved room type, please call
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations with your confirmation number.
My family has stayed at All-Star Resorts for years, and the price point can't be beat. The rooms are cozy, but the new renovation added fabulous space savers like under-bed storage and abundant cubbies. I also like the solid-surface flooring and shower doors. Maestro Mickey has done some pitch-perfect updates here!
Deana, I hope you have a magical musical time on your next visit. Please
stop by planDisney anytime. I'll be tuning up my flute!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
