Welcome to planDisney, Devon! I'm so glad you had a spooktacular time at
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I'm attending next week, so I'm
dying to experience it.
I'm so sorry to hear you had a hiccup entering the party, but I'm happy you worked it out. Let's look at some reasons your photo ID may have been required to join the party.
I spoke to a techie Cast Member who said the main reason guests may be asked to show a valid ID is if the ticket is linked to any
Special Offers. For example, if the ticket was purchased with an
Annual Passholder discount or as part of a Disney Vacation Club promotion, then the account manager must show proof of identity. This would also apply to Florida residents or military offers.
If you didn't use any special offers for your daughter's ticket, the Cast Member said it could have been a problem with how it was linked to your account. I can't give you a concrete reason without knowing the specific situation. But typically, guests using
Disney MagicMobile Service will not need to show a photo ID to gain entry to the theme parks.
If you're in the market for a wallet,
shopDisney has some fun options. I'm an Annual Passholder and like using the clear window compartment in my wallet for my passholder card with my photo ID tucked behind it. Maybe you can treat yourself on your next visit!
My final tip is that most
MagicBands can be made child-size by peeling off the outer layer of the wrist strap. I'm a small-boned adult and still wear the child-size bands!
Devon, thanks for stopping by
planDisney, and I'm so glad your recent visit was frighteningly fun. Please feel free to "hurry baaaack" anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
