Hi Leah,
We regularly take trips to Disney World with a large group, and there are several great options for accommodations. Since you can not guarantee adjoining rooms when booking your resort hotel, I like to make sure that I have one room that accommodates my entire party. As a result, we always opt for the
villas available at several of the resorts. When traveling with 5 adults, we typically choose a 2 bedroom villa because it will feature a king bed, 2 queen beds, and a fold-out couch for sleeping.
Disney's
Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa and
Animal Kingdom Villas have some of the largest rooms at Disney World. They both feature 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and even 3-bedroom options to ensure that your entire party has the space they need. The thing I love about these rooms is that they also have a living room and kitchen with ample room to relax and even cook a few meals together on vacation. Both of these resorts tend to be the more affordable option when booking a villa.
If you are looking to be right in the middle of the action at Magic Kingdom,
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and
The Villas at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa are where you want to be. Both of these options give you access to the monorail or the ability to walk right to Magic Kingdom from your front door. They each feature 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom options for booking and have access to some of the best amenities on Disney property. They are also the best option if you are looking for a luxury experience.
If EPCOT or Hollywood Studios are your favorite hang-outs, there are also a few options with transportation directly to the fun and even a walking path to get there if you want a few extra steps.
Disney's Beach Club Villas feature one of the best pools in all of Disney World alongside 1 or 2-bedroom villas that are impeccably designed. You also have access to a water taxi directly to the theme parks. One of my favorites is
Disney's Riviera Resort where you will be transported to the Mediterranean during your visit. They have 1, 2, and 3-bedroom villas with fabulous views, tons of amenities, and hop-on access to the Disney Skyliner for transportation directly to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
