Hi Lance,
When deciding what to wear for any occasion, I tend to operate by the idea that if I am in doubt about an outfit for the occasion then I should err on the side of caution. The
guidelines for dress at Disney World do not explicitly prohibit men's tank tops but do note that you should refrain from outfits that show an excessive amount of skin. Depending on the amount of skin exposure and how excessively torn the shirt is, whether or not you will be able to wear it is at the discretion of the cast members working that day. I have seen several men in tank tops at the theme parks but not any that show an excessive amount of skin.
If you are looking for some ways to beat the heat while you are at Disney World, I have got your back. We prefer to wear T-shirts that cover our shoulders and are made with cooling fabric and have some sort of sun protection in them. I find that this keeps us much cooler and also prevents sunburn! Another great accessory to bring is a neck fan or cooling towel to keep you cool during the middle part of the day.
When we visit during the summer, our plans always include
advanced dining reservations strategically placed midday so we can go inside, enjoy the air conditioning, and relax while eating fabulous food. My favorite locations for a great mid-day break are
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom,
Tutto Italia Ristorante at EPCOT,
Roundup Rodeo BBQ at Hollywood Studios, and
Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom.
Several quick-service restaurants offer a fabulous place to cool down and grab a quick bite. Some of our favorites are
Flame Tree Barbecue,
Pinocchio Village Haus, and
Satu'li Canteen. When dining at any quick-service location, I highly recommend using
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering so your food will be waiting for you when you arrive!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
