Hey there Madonna,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for stopping by with your question! I'm thrilled to hear you're staying at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for your upcoming visit. Whenever my family and I get the chance to stay here, it always feels like we're hidden away amongst the California redwood forest - it's both luxurious and cozy!
When staying at this or any Disneyland Resort hotel, there are no requirements as to the number of
theme park tickets you purchase. However, when I visit the parks, I do try to arrange the trip so that we can at least get two day tickets. Typically, my family and I will either plan to get there as early as possible on day 1 so we can have a full day in the parks, then stay the night in our hotel, and then have our second day in the parks as long as possible before needing to head back home.
Alternatively, we've also set up some trips in the past where we've arrived on our first day, done local sightseeing (like going to a beach), and stayed somewhere else for the first night. Then we've spent the next two days at the Disneyland Resort - including our Disneyland Resort hotel stay. This helps us get maximum time in the parks.
Lastly, you can
check in anytime to the hotels of the Disneyland Resort, but rooms are available after 3:00 PM, and check out is 11:00 AM. If you arrive early on your check in day, you can store your luggage at the Bell Desk so you can head over to the parks as you wait for your room. If you drove, you can leave your car parked in the
hotel parking lot until 11:59PM on your check out day as well.
Thanks again for your question, Madonna! I hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
