Hakuna Matata, Lea, and welcome to planDisney, where our safari vehicles always run on time! I'm so glad you stopped by with this "wild" question about your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort visit. My family has always loved
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park since we first visited on its opening day. My family also has a close relationship with Disney food, so let's talk about some adventurous options you'll have for your trip.
Savor the Savanna is part of the
Enchanting Extras Collection and can be booked 60 days before your arrival. You'll get a guided tour to a private viewing area deep inside the Harambe Wildlife Reserve. And the most fun part is you can sample some Africa-inspired dishes while enjoying the savanna. Please take a look at the
Know Before You Go section for details, and remember that a valid
Theme Park Ticket and
Reservation are required, but not included, in the price of this tour.
If you're feeling like the king of the jungle, you can book the
Wild Africa Trek. This three-hour privately guided tour will have you walking across a rope bridge while you watch wild animals in their habitats. And I don't know about you, but trekking across Africa would make me ravenous! You'll indulge in some gourmet African-inspired treats, and although menu items can change, you can sample dishes like tandoori shrimp, fresh fruit, and chicken wraps. Leave the bugs to Pumba! This tour is also in the Enchanting Extras Collection and requires separate theme park admission.
My final tip for a delectable dining adventure is at
Tusker House Restaurant. The buffet seems to stretch for miles and includes exotic cuisines like Moroccan-Spiced beef and fun family fare like Simba Waffles. Don't worry...they're not made from Simba; only shaped like him! But this dining option is unique because of the company you'll keep. Dressed in their safari helmets, you might catch Donald Duck, Goofy, and even Mickey himself.
Lea, your upcoming visit will be ferocious, and I'm not "lion!" Please
stop by planDisney anytime to talk safaris and food because they're my favorites.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
