Hello, Louise! I'm happy to offer you a hearty welcome back to planDisney! I'm glad you stopped by with another vacation planning question.
Louise, dining around the Walt Disney World Resort is one of my favorite topics of conversation, so I'm happy to chat with you today. Choosing between two delicious Walt Disney World restaurants is an arduous task, but in the words of Mama Odie, let's "dig a little deeper" to help you make a decision!
Louise, before we talk about the menu and drinks, if location is a determining factor, please note that Liberty Tree Tavern is located inside
Magic Kingdom Park. Whispering Canyon Cafe is located inside the main lobby of
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This may or may not make a difference to your day, but if you're already inside Magic Kingdom Park, you'll need to plan to
hop aboard a water taxi to your lunch destination.
Now,
Liberty Tree Tavern is a family-style meal that includes
salad, a platter for the table, dessert, and a non-alcoholic drink. If you choose a cocktail, beer, or wine, that would be an additional charge, but options like water, soda, or iced tea are included in your price per person.
Alternatively,
Whispering Canyon Cafe is not priced by person, but by your order. This restaurant gives a bit more flexibility to everyone in your traveling party, but drinks are separately priced. So, for example, one person may choose one of the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Signature Skillets for brunch (the
breakfast and lunch menus are the same) with a coffee while another person orders the Applewood-smoked Turkey Sandwich with an All-You-Care-To-Enjoy vanilla milkshake as their beverage. Note that the Signature Skillets are not served for the entire table, but individually.
Louise, I hope this helps as you're deciding where to enjoy lunch in August. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney where my fellow panelists and I are always happy to assist!
Lauren
