Hello, and welcome to planDisney, Kat!
My name is Amy, and I'll be your chief flight attendant, I mean panelist, today. As you might have guessed I'm a big fan of Soarin' Around the World at
EPCOT. I fondly remember the first time I experienced all its sights and scents with my family years ago, and we've ridden on every visit since.
Though this attraction is a family favorite, I'll admit that I've always been eager to experience the original version of
Soarin' Over California. The timing never worked out for us to catch it during its limited run on any of our visits to Disney California Adventure Park, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when I learned it would be returning to Walt Disney World Resort as part of the Disney100 Celebration last fall. It took me a few visits over the past few months but I was finally able to experience it just a few weeks ago. I stowed all my carry-on belongings, pulled on that yellow safety strap, and tucked away my beautiful little Mickey ears as instructed. Before I knew it we were radioing, "Soarin' to tower" and ready for takeoff over The Golden State. I loved getting a bird's eye view of Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe, but my favorite part of the ride was floating over those aromatic California orange groves. I can almost smell them now!
It sounds like you may have already experienced this version, and if so, nice work, pal! You've completed your flight in the nick of time because
Soarin' Around the World is set to return to World Nature at EPCOT next week. Guests will once again soar over the grasslands near Mount Kilimanjaro, past the Sydney Harbor and over the Taj Mahal (among other landmarks) beginning February 28, 2024.
Okay, let’s review: carry-on items, safety strap, geographical points of interest- anything else? Oh yeah, have a nice flight!
On behalf of our entire
planDisney crew, thanks for bringing your question to us. Have a magical time during your next visit to EPCOT, or wherever your final destination might take you. We hope you'll glide on back with more questions for us again soon!
Magic and memories,
Amy
