Hi there, Ruth Sara, thanks for reaching to planDisney!
How exciting that your sister is doing her first
runDisney event, and for Halloween! I love participating in these events, they are so fun. While I've not been on the spectator side, I can share that my family has and it's actually free to be a spectator. She'll want to keep an eye out on the
runDisney website and check her emails as they reveal race information ahead of time and that typically includes spectator watch areas. My family has waited for me to run through the
Disneyland Resort esplanade before, and also they've watched from the finish line! They will release the race map before so you can all plan accordingly for where to view and meet up after the race!
As a first time racer, I highly recommend she check out a recent
planDisney podcast on runDisney. My pal,
Melissa H. was a guest on that episode and gave some great tips on preparing for a race. Definitely check out the runDisney website as they have
training programs and race day
running tips, along with more tips from race expert,
Jeff Galloway!
I'm so excited for you both as this will be such a fun experience. I do recommend bringing snacks and a warm blanket as a spectator because it will be chilling the mornings! A pedicure after the race at
Tenaya Stone Spa at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is a great way to relax after the run and time spent in the park. Take lots of pics and then hopefully you'll have some downtime for magic to play in the parks during your visit!
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort will be in full swing so be sure to follow
Disney Parks Blog as they'll begin announcing more as the festivities draw closer.
Well Ruth Sara, I hope this helps you both! If you have any more questions before your arrival, feel free to
reach out again!
Every mile is magic!
Camille
