Hey there, hi there, ho there, Danny. You're as welcome as can be! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
I was just at the Disneyland Resort today and glanced at one of the
mailboxes on
Main Street, U.S.A. in
Disneyland Park. There was a sign on the mailbox that all mail posted at
The Happiest Place on Earth would be taken to an Anaheim Post Office. However, like you, I remember from my childhood that if you posted a letter from the Resort it would get a Disneyland postmark. While I never actually tried this (as I lived and still live a short drive from the Resort), I remember the signs indicating that mail is taken to a local post office showed up sometime in the early 2000s.
My fellow
planDisney panelist Elizabeth pointed out in a previous answer that mailboxes are located throughout the Disneyland Resort. What's fun is that they are all themed to the area or land they are in, so they look different throughout the parks. See you if you can spot them next time you visit!
Danny, did you know that at
Magic Kingdom Park in
Walt Disney World there is an ink stamp that indicates mail originated at the Resort? I think it's super cool and plan to try it next time I am there! My
planDisney pal Susan recently confirmed this when a
Guest wanted to mail their wedding invitations from Walt Disney World!
Thanks for stopping by, Danny. Please
let me know if you have any other questions, or want to talk more about Disneyland's history. It is one of my favorite topics!
See ya real soon,
Melissa
