Hello Pal!
Welcome to planDisney! Oh boy! You are days away from arriving at Walt Disney World Resort and I'm sure you are very excited! I bet you are working on making sure you packed everything you need.
Well, I'm glad you came here as packing for a trip is something I am very good at helping people with and unfortunately very bad at doing myself. (I know, it's weird, but I think it's because my brain works better for others rather than for myself.) Anyway, let's head over to the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules to give you clear rules regarding backpacks and raincoats. Backpacks are allowed in the Parks, with or without wheels but they cannot be larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. A regular-sized backpack would be perfectly fine but understand Security can request for it to be examined thoroughly if needed. Raincoats are always welcome and highly recommended as a shower can happen at any time. Walt Disney World Resort has rules regarding attire for safety and a pleasant experience for all Guests. Make sure it does not drag on the ground or be inappropriate with offensive language or images. I always pack a travel raincoat that compresses into a small bag. It fits perfectly in my backpack. On my last trip this year I also packed a UV umbrella which not only provided instant shade but blocked the rain as well. Some of my friends swear by disposable plastic ponchos they got from the dollar store. They tend to be one-time use as it is very hard to refold a wet poncho but they work pretty well.
The lovely panelists at planDisney have created a
Park Bag guide for you. Sunglasses, hand sanitizer, and a portable charger are my top three bag items. My kids now carry a small backpack when in the Parks. I make sure they have snacks, their water bottles, and the precious autograph book. This way, they have everything they need and I have one less question to answer.
I hope that this helps and you have a fabulous time!
Happy Planning!
