I have a reservation at a Disney resort. If I buy park tickets through a third party provider can I still buy a lighting pass 7 days in advance? Also, do we still get in 30 minutes early? Thanks!

    Hiya Amy! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh boy! Let the countdown begin! You are a month away until you arrive for a magical Walt Disney World trip. One of the interesting aspects of planning a Disney vacation is that they come in all shapes and sizes. Some Guests opt for more days exploring the parks while others build in a couple of resort days to enjoy the recreation and amenities offered at their Disney Resorts hotel. The options are truly unlimited.

Regardless of how you booked your stay, as long as you have a Disney Resorts hotel reservation and park tickets, you will enjoy all the benefits that come with it. This includes booking Lightning Lanes seven days in advance to get a head start on your planning. This perk gives you a leg up from other Guests staying off-site and not in a Disney Resorts hotel. You'll have the option to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which allows you to book three attractions in advance at one park each day. Lightning Lane Single Pass will also be available and are reserved for specific attractions at each park.

You will have access to Early Theme Park Entry, which allows you to enter the parks up to 30 minutes before the official park opening time. My family takes advantage of this benefit every time we visit. The extra time gives you a chance to ride a few attractions with minimal to no wait times before the stand-by line begins to grow. Other Guests like to take their time and just enjoy the atmosphere of the park before crowds start to build.

Amy, in addition to these great perks, you'll also receive complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks each day. This will come in many forms, including by bus, boat, monorail, or the Disney Skyliner. Depending on which resort you are staying in will determine which mode of transportation you end up utilizing more. There is nothing more exciting than hopping on the monorail to arrive at the Magic Kingdom or taking a flight through the sky to get to Hollywood Studios on the Disney Skyliner.

I hope this information helps you plan for your stay! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
