Hi Marissa!
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with this great question. I'm happy to help you plan for your upcoming stay! Being that this is not your first visit, you are already ahead of the game when it comes to planning. Whether you visited years ago or recently, having been before gives you a sense of what to expect on your next stay.
Since your previous trips were managed by a family member, you'll need to take a few steps in order to gain access to your existing profile. MagicBands are connected to the individual Guest and not the account holder that the Guest is under. What you'll need to do is create a
My Disney Experience account for yourself, then have your existing profile transferred to your new account. This way, anything that was previously linked to you (MagicBands included) when your plans were being managed by your aunt will now be under your control. Once a new account is created,
call the My Disney Experience, MagicBand, and MagicBand+ line to speak to a Cast Member for assistance. They can access your account information and move the necessary information under your name.
Once this has been completed, any MagicBand and
MagicBand+ that are currently linked to your name will work exactly as they do now. You can continue using them for theme park entry, Lightning Lanes, and merchandise purchases (if you are staying at a Disney Resorts hotel).
If you decide to purchase a new one down the road, MagicBand+ has countless options to choose from. There are designs based on your favorite Disney characters, theme park attractions, and many more. You can find them all over the Walt Disney World Resort, including at merchandise locations inside the theme parks and your Disney Resort hotel.
Marissa, I hope this information helps you plan for your upcoming stay!
See ya real soon!
Greg
