Hi Mike,
YES! I am with you on this plan. I love it already. I can feel the joy as your little one and their entourage get to experience the enchantment of Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on the same day!
Pick out your very best sneakers because you are going to be putting in some steps on that day, Friend. Think: comfort. Now, let's get down to the details.
First, let's consider some options for the best Walt Disney Resort hotel for your group. A 2-Bedroom Deluxe Villa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Resort-Kidani Village could be a perfect fit. It's not just about the space but the convenience it offers. With your own full kitchen, washer, dryer, and patio or balcony, you'll feel right at home. Plus, it's close to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, offering more incredible time with these majestic creatures and three full bathrooms for added comfort.
Another fantastic option would be a 2-Bedroom Villa at
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Again with all the amenities of home and three full bathrooms, this Resort hotel would allow you to casually stroll or ride the Monorail "Home" after an evening at Magic Kingdom Park when your little one is sleepy. This convenience cannot be overstated!
Now, for your big day in the theme parks, you will need
theme park admission tickets with the Park Hopper Option. This will allow you to visit both theme parks on the same day. Since you will select your adventure date when you buy your ticket, no additional theme park reservation is needed, and you are free to change locations whenever you would like. Official Disney bus transportation runs from theme park to theme park beginning at 10 AM.
Official hours have yet to be released for those days, so I can't say for sure. However, historically, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park has generally closed around sunset in January. With that in mind, I would plan to take your walk on the wild side first since Magic Kingdom Park will likely be open later into the night. A couple of must-dos for your youngest explorer might be:
1.
Conservation Station in Rafiki's Planet Watch. My girls could stay for hours petting the friendly creatures out here. It's a relaxing place away from crowds.
2.
Kilimanjaro Safaris for the best look at the inhabitants of Pride Rock.
3. Joining the
Wilderness Explorers. Who said you can't have fun while learning?
Then, board a bus bound for Magic Kingdom Park.
Try not to miss:
1.
Tomorrowland Speedway. There is nothing like your first car.
2.
Mickey's PhilharMagic for a few surprises in the concert hall
3. Of course, the nighttime spectacular. There is nothing like closing out a practically perfect Disney Day with fireworks.
I hope that was helpful, Mike. Please come back and see us with any other questions as you continue to plan this unforgettable trip!
Adventure is out there,
Sally
