Hi, Melissa. Thanks for coming to us with your question.
I'm taking my best friend from high school to the
Walt Disney World Resort this July and it will be her first time since the early '90s.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is one of the many attractions I'm really excited for her to experience as it, and its surrounding attractions, will all be new to her! And there's something about this attraction that is both new and nostalgic. Not only is it based on the first feature-length animated film, but the gently tilting mine train cars, the shining gems in the mine, and the fun twists and turns make it a delightful family-friendly coaster that makes you feel like a kid again. And, while this attraction will be new to her, I'll be sure to point out that some of the audio-animatronic figures at the end aren't. Most of the dwarf figures in the end scene were plucked straight from the opening-day attraction "Snow White's Scary Adventures"...and so are the vultures toward the beginning of the ride. What's old is new again!
At this time, you can only purchase one
Individual Lightning Lane per person, per day for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (with a limit of 2 of these types of reservations total per person, per day). But that restriction only applies to purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane for this attraction. You can wait in the standby queue as many times as you'd like throughout the day. The only limits to the standby queue are the park hours, possible weather closures, and how long you're willing to wait in line for this attraction!
The majority of attractions in
Magic Kingdom Park have standby queues. One exception is the high-speed coaster
TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise. Currently, while you can purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for this one as well, you cannot wait in a standby queue as an alternative. Instead, you can try to join a
Virtual Queue on the
My Disney Experience mobile app at either 7 a.m. from anywhere or 1 p.m. from inside the park. Another exception will be
Tiana's Bayou Adventure when it opens on June 28, 2024. For this one,
you can try for a Boarding Group in the Virtual Queue just like with TRON or you can try to reserve a
Lightning Lane through the
Disney Genie+ Service. Just note that you can currently only be enrolled in one Virtual Queue at a time. Once you've ridden your first attraction through this method, if there's still availability, you can try for a second one. You cannot, however, enroll in a Virtual Queue for the same attraction twice in one day.
Melissa, best wishes for a wonderful trip to the resort. Be sure to
stay cool and enjoy every second. If you have any other questions,
I'm happy to answer them!

Matt
