Hello, I have purchased some Disney GC and have transferred the max. amount of $1000 to one card. Do I need to keep the 10 x $100 cards that I transferred to the $1000 card to prove my balance or for any other reason?

    Hi Sandra,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question about Disney Gift Cards!

Disney Gift Cards are a great way to save up for your trip ahead of time and I am glad you have been able to accumulate so many of them!  Also, kudos for knowing you can visit the Disney Gift Card website and condense your individual Disney Gift Cards into one, up to $1000.  I agree with Elsa, that you can just "let it go" after you have condensed your Disney Gift Cards into one.  However, please be sure to check that tab at the top of the Disney Gift Card page that says "Balance" to make sure all of your transfers have been completed before doing so.

Sandra, although I don't personally see a need to keep the old Disney Gift Cards, I do recommend taking a photo of the front and back of your current Disney Gift Card that has the $1000 balance on it.  That way if you lose the card, you will be able to go back to the Disney Gift Card site and transfer the balance of it to another card so someone else cannot use it.

One area that I like using a Disney Gift Card is for Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering.  Although you cannot store your Disney Gift Card number in your My Disney Experience App like you can a debit or credit card, you can still use it to pay for your purchases.  One way to make it easier to check out is to store your Disney Gift Card number in the Notes section of your phone and just copy and paste it when you are checking out.
