Hi Ashley!
Welcome to planDisney. I'd be happy to assist you today!
While canceling a trip is never fun, unfortunately, it's sometimes necessary. I have experienced the disappointment of canceling a Disney Cruise Line vacation, but have not personally canceled a visit to Disneyland Resort so I reached out to a Cast Member for more details on your particular request. She let me know that each guest of your travel party will need to purchase
travel protection, and if one member has to cancel for a covered reason they would receive a refund of the covered expenses, subject to any cancelation fees or penalties. The remainder of your travel party can still enjoy the vacation package as planned, you will just need to modify your existing reservation to account for the changes and ensure any remaining balance of your package is paid in full. You can call (714) 520-5060 for assistance in
updating an existing vacation package.
I also called to speak with a representative from Aon Affinity, the insurance provider for the Walt Disney Travel Company. They confirmed that while partial coverage may be provided for specified reasons, it can take up to 15 days for travel protection insurance claims to be evaluated and processed. You can review the full details shown on the schedule of benefits when adding travel protection to your vacation. You are also welcome to
call Aon Affinity directly with additional questions, as coverage may vary based on guests' state of residency.
I hope this was helpful Ashley! If we can answer any additional questions please come back and let us know. I'm sending lots of pixie dust your way and hoping your group will experience the magic of
Disneyland Resort together soon!
Wishing you magic and memories,
Amy
