Hi, Katie!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney. I’m sorry you’re running into trouble purchasing
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Let's see if I can help!
At Disneyland Resort, Lightning Lane Multi Pass can’t be purchased on its own ahead of time, which is a little different from how things work at Walt Disney World Resort. Instead, Guests can typically add Lightning Lane Multi Pass when buying theme park tickets on the Disneyland website or
app, or they can purchase it after scanning into a park for the day. While availability can vary, it rarely sells out in my experience. I’m a
Magic Key passholder myself, so I can only buy it once I’m inside a park, and I’ve always been able to get it without any issues.
To make the most of your day and maximize those Lightning Lane selections, I recommend heading into Disneyland first thing in the morning. Not only does this help ensure Lightning Lane Multi Pass is still available, but it also gives you more time to book return windows. When I arrive at park opening, I hop onto the Disneyland app right away, purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, grab my first return time, and then head straight to another attraction while standby lines are still fairly short. By the time I’m off that attraction, I’m often ready to walk right towards my Lightning Lane selection.
During those early hours, I like to focus on the most popular attractions, including Space Mountain and Indiana Jones Adventure in
Disneyland Park, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! and Toy Story Midway Mania! over at
Disney California Adventure Park. Also, don’t miss the brand-new Soarin’ Across America. I’m counting down the days until I get to experience it myself next month!
Katie, have the best time at Disneyland (and have a
churro for me)! Feel free to reach out to planDisney again if you have additional questions.
Magic Happens!
