Arthur,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Disney's Pop Century Resort is one of my all-time favorites! The decor of the grounds, the
Disney Skyliner access, and the modern but warm ambiance of the rooms. It all works for me, and I hope it will for you too!
Your first question was about connecting rooms. There are rooms with connecting doors available at Pop Century, but not every room has that capability. About 1/2 of the rooms do, and 1/2 do not. While you cannot specifically request a room that does not have a connecting door at the time of booking, when you arrive, you can go to the front desk and ask them to place you in a room that does not have a connecting door. Though Disney cannot guarantee that they can fulfill your request, it does improve your chances of getting what you request.
Next, you asked about travel in May. Temperatures in May typically range from 70 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit (20.5 to 31 Celsius). May is a bit rainy, but nothing like the true rainy season of June through September. I love to visit in May. It comes in as a close second to traveling to Walt Disney World in October, for me. I think that based on your September travel experience, you will be pleasantly surprised!
BONUS TIPThe
Disney Resort Hotels heat their resort pools year-round to around 82 degrees (about 28 degrees Celsius). While they certainly do not reach hot tub temperatures, the added warmth usually is enough to take the chill out of the water, even on a cold day.
