Hi Annette, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. There’s nothing quite like the exhilaration of running through the theme parks during a runDisney race! But sometimes registration can feel harder than running the race itself, especially since they’re so popular. So, let’s make sure you’re not late for this very important date!
The registration start time is a little hidden on the
runDisney website, but the easiest way to find it is by navigating to the race weekend page and clicking on the specific race you’re interested in. Here you’ll find the date and time when registration opens. For instance, if you check the
Wine & Dine Half Marathon page, you’ll see that General Registration opened February 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time or 9:00 AM Central Time. It’s in a tiny font, so it can be easy to miss!
Most of the 2025 runDisney events are sold out, but currently there are spots still open for
Springtime Surprise Yoga in April and the
Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon in September. If you’re interested in either of those events, I’d register as soon as possible since availability might even change by the time you read this! If you had your eye on one of the other races, keep checking the website since occasionally registration will reopen very briefly.
The
2025-2026 Race Season Calendar page has the upcoming registration dates (the next one is in March for the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon weekend). The race weekend pages are typically updated a few weeks before sign-ups open and then you can confirm the exact time you should be on your computer. On registration day, I recommend being on the website about 10 minutes before registration opens. Sometimes the Register Now button will pop up early and you can click on it before the start time. Once registration officially opens, you’ll be automatically assigned a spot in the queue. When your number is called, it’ll be ready to get signed up!
In addition to marking your calendar for the registration dates, my other piece of advice would be to set a reminder to make dining reservations as soon as your booking window opens—
60 days in advance, or if you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, 60 days before check-in for your whole stay (up to a 10-night stay). Post-race brunch and dinner are extremely popular, so those meal times can get booked quickly. My friends and I loved celebrating our marathon finish over
‘Ohana dinner at the Polynesian! Other favorites are post-race brunch at
Wine Bar George or
Homecomin’. Some
Disney Springs restaurants and stores even give race participants a discount by showing your medal or bib. That information will be in the Digital Expo & Event Guide that usually comes out a week or two before the races.
I’m sending you all the pixie dust for registration day! And don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney if you have any other questions.
