Hi there Tammi, and welcome to planDisney!
If there's anything that I love seeing here at Walt Disney World Resort, it's folks of all ages coming together to enjoy their stays here from the wisest among us to the youngest at heart. As I get older myself and feeling those long days trekking between the theme parks in my bones, I'm always happy to lend some tips and tricks about
Resort Transportation strategies to guests that could benefit from it:
- The Walt Disney World Monorail System has three different lines; from Disney's Contemporary Resort you'll be able to board the Resort Monorail line that connects you to Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). From here an Express Monorail connects with Magic Kingdom Park directly, while the EPCOT Monorail brings guests directly over to EPCOT with a brief glimpse within the theme park itself.
- Unfortunately, there are currently no monorails that connect to neither Disney's Hollywood Studios nor Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Instead, you'll have to take the complimentary Walt Disney World Bus Service which you can find at the ground level of Disney's Contemporary Resort, in an area outside the lobby leading towards Magic Kingdom Park. If you're seeking the easiest and fastest way possible, paying for a Minnie Van™ Connected by Lyft ride to the other theme parks often gets you closer to the entrances and reduces the risk of waiting for a crowded bus. (While the result is a much more comfortable experience, this does require you to download the Lyft app in order for you to request a ride.)
Alternatively, folks staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort enjoy being within walking distance of Magic Kingdom Park which is why I'm looking forward to
staying in Bay Lake Tower this year. I hope that this helps you plan for your transportation options Tammi, but be sure to
check out our planDisney Transportation Guide and come back again to planDisney if you'd like any other tips or advice ahead of your trip!
Wishing you a swell time on your September stay!
