Hi Heather!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question today. I absolutely love resort hopping to experience all the different theming, decor, and restaurants across the Disney Resorts Collection. We try to make time during each trip to check out something new, or at least new to us. I
shared my tips for a very specific itinerary request for another guest a few months back, but I'd be happy to give you my top suggestions as well. Let's hop to it!
First, I want to mention that while transportation is complimentary between the parks and resorts, you won't be able to utilize it to travel directly from resort to resort. But not to worry! You can travel to one of the theme parks first and then transfer to another resort via bus, Disney Skyliner, or Disney Monorail. You can also save some time and use the paid
Disney Minnie Van Service to take you directly to nearly anywhere on property.
I'd recommend starting your day by transferring via bus through Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park to
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. I love strolling the grounds of Art of Animation and snapping pictures of the bright and bold character statues stationed around the different sections. This resort is a must-visit for any Cars fans in your travel party since you can pose in front of the Cozy Cone Motel sign or right alongside Mater and friends. So fun!
Once you've had your fill you can walk across Hourglass Lake to explore the iconic decade designs at Disney's Pop Century Resort before taking the
Disney Skyliner toward EPCOT. You'll transfer lines at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort station before a quick stop at Disney's Riviera Resort. If you're a coffee fan hop off here, snap a few photos of the gorgeous mosaic murals, and pick up a beverage at Le Petit Café. Don't miss the banana bread if you decide to stop. If coffee isn't your vibe continue on the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT. You'll arrive at International Gateway which will put you within walking distance of Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts on one side, and
Disney's BoardWalk on the other. This is one of my favorite areas to explore on property- particularly in the evening hours as Disney's BoardWalk performers come out to entertain guests. Always a treat to watch!
When you've finished your tour of this area you can take a resort bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then use the Monorail to explore the resorts around Seven Seas Lagoon. Enchanted Rose at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is always a must-visit for us, but you'll be equally delighted just by sitting and listening to the lobby pianist or shopping at Basin White.
You can visit the beautiful lobby and cozy up to the fire at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge via water taxi from Magic Kingdom Park, or head over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge via bus to take in the savanna views. There are a number of lookout points to observe the animals around the resort and you might even find a few knowledgeable Cast Members to chat with there too!
Heather if I can answer any additional questions or help you fine-tune your plans please don't hesitate to
reach out to me directly.
Wishing you a magical visit!
Amy
