My niece is going to visit shortly with her two young children and family. She has terminal cancer and is in her 30s. I wondered who(#)to contact to do something special for her on her visit.

    Hi there, Andrew!

Thank you for giving us at planDisney the opportunity to assist your family in such a meaningful, magical way. I lost my father to cancer, and the memories I have of him at Walt Disney World Resort are some of my favorites. I recently unearthed his Pirates of the Caribbean tricorn hat and couldn't stop laughing at the memory of him refusing to take it off for family photos...much to my mother's dismay. So, let's find a way to help your niece's family create some unforgettable magical memories of their own!

You know your family's interests best, so I suggest looking through the Enchanting Extras Collection to see if any tours or experiences sound like something they might enjoy experiencing together. The options available are vast and include interactions with animals, behind-the-scenes tours, and even fireworks dessert parties. You might also consider gifting a private photo session through Disney's Capture Your Moment service. You would select the theme park at the time of purchase, but your niece's family would have a bit of freedom to choose locations within that park during their 20-minute session. I just checked with a helpful Cast Member who shared that any of these bookings can be made online, or by reaching out to the Tours and Recreation Team by phone. With their vacation beginning so soon, certain popular experiences might be sold out. In this case, I suggest calling to see if there if there were any last-minute cancellations.

If you aren't sure which Enchanting Extra they would most enjoy or are overwhelmed by the options, I suggest sending a Disney eGiftcard to your niece. Upon receipt, this could be uploaded to her My Disney Experience account, and she would be able to use it in a way she feels would have the most impact on their vacation. This could be to permanently capture all of her family's magical memories by purchasing Memory Maker, enjoying a delightful character meal with her children, or purchasing a silly hat to wear that her kids will one day look back at and smile.

I hope I provided some helpful options, Andrew, and that you find the perfect way to show your niece that she will always be a part of your 'ohana. If you need any other ideas or information, please don't hesitate to reach back out. I'm happy to help.

    Thinking of your family,
