Planning for a trip with my daughter. She will be 2 when we go. How does dining work for that age (all the menus say kids 3-9)

    Hi Katlyn!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney! There’s nothing quite like seeing Disney World through a 2-year-old’s eyes. It’s been one of my favorite ages to take my boys!

I’m happy to let you know that kids under 3 eat for free at all family-style and buffet restaurants…which even includes some character dining and fireworks dessert parties. If you go to a table service or quick service restaurant, you can decide if you’d like to purchase a kids’ meal or just let her share with you. Just make sure to add her to your dining reservations, so the restaurant can ensure there’s enough space for your family.

It’s also good to note that you can bring your own food into the parks. I always come with a backpack stocked with my boys’ favorite snacks or small meals.

Little ones under 3 won’t need a park ticket or Lightning Lanes during your stay either. If you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Premier Pass for those 3 and older, your daughter will get to go through the Lightning Lanes with the rest of the party.

There are a few other things I want to share before I let you go! First, take advantage of the Baby Care Center in each theme park. It’s so nice to have a quiet, air-conditioned spot for diaper changes and feedings. If your daughter is potty trained by the time your trip rolls around, there are smaller toilets at the Baby Care Centers, too!

Next, know that the Disney World resorts will provide a pack n’ play, crib, or bed rails. Just call Mousekeeping or use your "Hey Disney!" device when you get to your room to request one, and they’ll send it up. It’s so nice to not have to pack that bulky stuff.

Finally, you’re more than welcome to bring your own stroller to the parks. Just make sure it’s no bigger than 31 inches in width and 52 inches in length. I always recommend packing light for the parks because you’ll need to collapse the stroller on bus transportation and some boat transportation. The last thing you want to worry about is getting all of your stuff together as the bus is pulling up to the stop!

If you have any other questions about going to Disney World with littles, feel free to reach back out! I’m happy to help!
