Hi there! We are about to plan a trip for our family to WDW to stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort in a family suite type room. When we book, will the theme of the room be determined then or when we check in?

    Hi Ryan!

Welcome to planDisney!  I'm so glad you stopped by with this great question as you start planning your family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort.

Ryan, Disney's Art of Animation Resort is such an incredible resort!  I love the theming throughout the property, and the Family Suites are perfect when you're looking for a bit more space.  If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, I'd suggest taking a peek at the recently released resort tour on YouTube featuring my panelist pals, Elaine and JoAnna.  It's a great way to see everything this property has to offer!

When you book a Family Suite, you can either choose your theme during the booking process or simply select "Family Suites" and be surprised by which is assigned to your family at check-in.  On a recent visit to Walt Disney World, my toddler fell in love with the Cars section of the resort, so I think our next stay here will need to be in the heart of Radiator Springs!

One of the many great features of this resort is that you can easily access the Disney Skyliner.  This convenient mode of transportation doesn't just help you get to and from EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, but you can also easily travel between other resorts located on the Skyliner route.  Two of my favorite character dining locations are inside resort hotels that also have Skyliner access - Breakfast à la Art with Mickey and Friends at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, located inside Disney's Riviera Resort, and Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Cafe, located inside Disney's Beach Club Resort.  Either of these options is perfect if you're planning a resort day since they don't require theme park admission!

I hope this information has been helpful, Ryan, and that you enjoy making many magical memories at Walt Disney World!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!

    Cheers!
    Kristi
