Hello Thomas,
Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with another great question!
I know you and your family are so excited to sail from Southampton in September. I just reviewed your
fabulous itinerary again to see if I could give you a definitive answer to this puzzling situation. When viewing the Disney Cruise Line website, I see the same information you see on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, which appears that Guests might be free to spend the evening in Hamburg. When I checked with a Disney Cruise Line shoreside Cast Member, it appears that Guests can go ashore (assuming the ship remains on schedule and is cleared by local authorities) at 7:00 a.m. on Day 3 and Guests must be onboard on Day 4 at 6:00 p.m. According to the Cast Member I spoke with, the ship will remain docked in Hamburg.
Thomas, we recommend confirming when Guests should be back aboard on Day 3 once you board the ship at the start of your cruise. The Crew will likely communicate this information to everyone in advance of Day 3, but if you want to make plans you can ask. Since your cruise is currently scheduled to celebrate Pirate Night on the evening of Day 4, make sure you are back and ready to get your "arrghh!" warmed up!
I hope you have some exciting Port Adventures planned in Hamburg.
A Visit to the Meyer Werft Shipyard (HAM24), where Disney Cruise Line vessels are built, sounds interesting! If the timing is right, you might catch a glimpse of
Disney Treasure!
If you have other questions, Thomas, please let us know; we are happy to help!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
