Happiest Greetings on Earth, Allison! I am SO happy you are here and thank you for trusting planDisney to help with your vacation planning questions, especially for your first visit to Disneyland Resort!
I'm glad to hear that you've secured many of the important trip logistics like your hotel reservation and flight itineraries. If you haven't done so already, I suggest reviewing the
ticket and theme park reservation requirements for your visit dates to ensure that these are squared away in advance of your arrival. Guests visiting Disneyland Resort will need both valid admission and a theme park reservation for each day they wish to spend in the theme parks. You can
view park reservation availability in the online Calendar at any point. I would also recommend getting familiar with the
official Disneyland mobile app and ensuring that your
tickets are linked to your MyDisney account so you can continue making plans right from your mobile device! It's a resource I use all the time for my own family's visits!
Now, to your question about
getting to the Disneyland Resort from the airport, Allison. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is about 40 miles away from the Anaheim resort area and there are a few shuttle services that you might consider, including Karmel Shuttle listed on the Disneyland website. My family has also used rideshare services with great success. You might want to note that at LAX, meeting standard rideshare currently requires a walk or a complimentary shuttle outside the baggage claim to the designated pick-up area. I've found some helpful information on the official LAX airport website in the past. I have a few
additional ground transportation recommendations here that I'll link for you.
Allison, it sounds like you are a fan of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit! You might be happy to know that Oswald can frequently be found along Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Park for character meet-and-greets with Guests! I typically like to use the
Disneyland mobile app to search for character appearances using the map feature (just toggle the menu over to 'Characters' to view their greeting times). There is a
fun merchandise shop inspired by Oswald right near the entrance to Disney California Adventure Park, too! And, you might know that Oswald made his original screen debut in Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks' 1927 cartoon,
Trolley Troubles, but you can actually view another classic Disney animated short highlighting transportation comedic chaos over at the
Main Street Cinema where
Traffic Troubles and other original Mickey Mouse cartoons play throughout the day!
I hope those have been some helpful tips for your first visit to Disneyland Resort, Allison! I hope you and your mom have an unbelievably memorable time together and if we can share any other recommendations along the way, please come back and see us here at
planDisney. We're always honored to help!
Magically yours,
Tishra
