Hello! Does Magic Kingdom still have any form of Kiss Goodnight? I remember reading that it had stopped after COVID and I didn't see if it is back on or not. Also, does it run in any way on Disney After Hours nights (I'm going to the event)

Welcome to planDisney, Patrick! Your Walt Disney World Resort visit is just around the briar patch, so I'm going to channel my inner Godmother Merryweather to get you an answer. I think I'll make it pink; I mean blue; I mean pink! Sorry, but like Sleeping Beauty's godmothers, I can never agree on my favorite color.

Once upon a time, guests could linger after the official closing at Magic Kingdom Park in hopes of hearing the somewhat elusive "Kiss Goodnight." This short broadcast would bid park-goers a happy evening and safe travels, and thank them for spending a magical day at Disney. I remember the lights would dim for an enchanting moment, and it really did feel like a personal farewell message.

Even back in those "olden times," the Kiss Goodnight was never guaranteed. Hearing it was a bit like a sprinkle of pixie dust. Unfortunately, it seems this beloved tradition was officially retired earlier this year. A friendly Cast Member told me that he doesn't know when or if it will return, but it is no longer regularly scheduled, not even during special events.

I know this isn't the news you were dreaming of, but I have some other suggestions for how to end your evening. My husband and I love to linger at the end of the night to snap some photos of Cinderella Castle after it's nearly deserted. Sometimes, if no one is looking, we have our own kiss goodnight!

Another fun way to end the evening is to ride an attraction outdoors to enjoy the sights and sounds as Magic Kingdom slows down. Tiana's Bayou Adventure is my favorite for this; I don't mind getting soaked since I'll be leaving right after!

And while I know you'll miss the Kiss Goodnight on your upcoming event, please rest assured that Mickey and his pals will be glad you came to visit. I hope you have an amazing time, Patrick. Please stop by planDisney again, where we're never strangers; we met once upon a dream.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
