Hiya, Sampada! I am always glad to meet a fellow Georgian at planDisney. I bet your family is as excited as mine to start packing for Fall Break, with just over a week before we trade homework for Disney magic. Now we just have to figure out this glitch so you can pack your MagicBand+ and mark it off your to-do list.
My motto with computers is, "When all else fails, reboot." I'll share several tips and tricks, but assuming you have tried a few of them already, I will start with the MagicBand+ version of a reboot: a factory reset.
To completely reset your MagicBand+, press the small round power button on the back of the MagicBand+ once quickly and then press it again and, this time, hold it for 15 seconds. It should buzz three times and light up with several colors around its face, indicating it is resetting. When the lights will turn off and then flash green once, the factory reset is complete.
Before you try pairing with your phone again, make sure you have all the bases covered.
- Charge your MagicBand+.
- Turn on Bluetooth in your phone's settings.
- Reboot your phone.
- Have the latest update to the My Disney Experience app installed.
I am wishing upon a star that the factory reset does the trick. If not, you can call the My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ contact center to see if they have any additional guidance. Once at Walt Disney World Resort, you can also visit Guest Relations for help.
In the worst case, even without power, your MagicBand+ will work to enter your Disney Resorts Collection hotel room, scan in at the theme park gates, access Lightning Lane entries, charge purchases to your resort bill and link Disney PhotoPass pictures to your account. But again, I hope the factory reset works for all the fun haptics and sounds that make the MagicBand+ extra fun.
If you have any other questions as you plan your trip, you have a friend in planDisney.
