I know what it's like to be excited about packing all the things that say, "I am going to Walt Disney World!" —a good pair of walking shoes, Minnie ears, MagicBand+. Trying to get those last items marked off your to-do list so you can leave the world of today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy is a thrill. And then you realize you linked a
MagicBand+ to the wrong person, and "Oh boy" becomes "Oh bother!"
Typically, once a MagicBand+ is linked to an account,
it cannot be transferred to someone else. I have spoken with Cast Members who recommend a few options if the MagicBand+ was incorrectly linked and has not yet been used.
You can try the Help Center Chat function on the
Walt Disney World Resort website. Cast Members may ask you to log into a window where they can access your account and reassign the MagicBand+ to someone in your
Family & Friend List. You can also chat with them on the
My Disney Experience app. To do this, open the main menu (the "≡" at the bottom of the screen), scroll to "Help & Feedback," and select "Chat With Us." If you would like to speak with someone, you can call the
My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ line.
If they cannot reassign the MagicBand+,
Disney MagicMobile service can unlock the power to scan into the theme parks and access Lightning Lane entries. Even with my MagicBand+, I have Disney MagicMobile on my phone, just in case.
