Rima from WA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We have made a three-day Disneyland trip booking and I am trying to make restaurant reservations for our trip. I am sixty days out today, and every restaurant I have tried to book has said they have no availability for my party. I need help.

Hi there, Rima, and welcome to planDisney!

Thank you so much for coming to us with your question. I'm sorry to hear that you've been unsuccessful in finding availability with your desired dining reservations. Some of the more popular venues fill up very quickly so are more difficult to book. I'd be happy to explain the system for future reference and offer some alternative options.

You're correct that dining reservations are released 60 days in advance. They are released each day at 6 a.m. PT. I have an upcoming 3 day visit scheduled with my kids so for 3 consecutive days at the scheduled 60 day mark, I woke up a few minutes before, logged into the Disneyland Mobile App, and the second it changed to 6:00 a.m., I pressed the "Reserve Dining" button and began booking. For extremely popular venues like Lamplight Lounge and the Blue Bayou Restaurant, I could literally see reservation times being taken away as other Guests booked them. Make sure that you already have a credit card registered in the App because you'll need it to hold your reservation and it'll expedite the process. I realize this won't help you now, but for future reference this has worked for me.

All hope is not lost, though! I would recommend that you keep checking dining reservation availability because Guests change their plans all the time, and you never know when a reservation will free up. Also, on the day of your visit, you can try to join the Mobile Walk Up List. This has been effective for many people I know, and Cast Members will do their best to accommodate you. If you have an especially large party, sometimes the website has difficulty finding something for you. I've had success in splitting the party into two smaller groups with reservations around the same time. Then, when checking in, let the Cast Member know that you are all together.

Rima, I wish you the best of luck with your planning and I hope that you have a magical trip to the Disneyland Resort! You'll be visiting over Pixar Fest, so I hope there are some Pixar fans with you! Please feel free to return anytime you have more questions. We'd love to hear from you and continue being involved with your trip! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
