Hiya Peter,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for submitting your question to us!
As a fellow solo traveler, I am happy to help answer your question about dining reservations! I have had a difficult time or two with finding
dining reservations for one, but have learned a few things along the way. I’d love to share some insights for solo visit planning!
When checking for dining availability, I like to select the “All Day” dining filter to see availability for all restaurants that require a reservation. Using this filter helps guests see all the dining reservation times available for that specific day. I have waved my magic wand and can see several amazing restaurant selections with
current availability (subject to change)! Some of my favorite dining locations that have reservations available include
Carnation Cafe,
Goofy’s Kitchen,
Palm Breeze Bar, and
GCH Craftsman Bar.
Don’t forget to check for guest cancellations! In the past, I’ve had luck checking the day before for last-minute reservations to popular locations such as
Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar! I like to periodically check throughout the day, as guests will cancel up to 24 hours before their dining reservation. Once the reservation is available, be sure to grab it quickly because several other guests are also hoping for a cancellation to come through and will grab it as soon as possible!
Tip from Tiffany: If you cannot secure a dining reservation before your visit, you may be able to join the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up List! Certain dining locations (such as
Blue Bayou Restaurant and
Lamplight Lounge) have a walk-up list that guests can join (either at the restaurant or through the
Disneyland app) to fill in any remaining tables at different times throughout the day! The walk-up list is first come, first serve, so be sure to go directly towards the restaurant at rope drop to make it onto the list!

Disneyland Resort, remember - you’ve got a friend in me!
