We made dining reservations for six but we are now a party of four. What do we do? Will we be penalized for those two guests?

Greetings Janalee and welcome to planDisney!

I’ve been in your shoes many times! When that 60-day mark hits and I’m making dining plans for my family and friends, it all seems like it should be wrapped up with a bow!  But changes do happen, and family members find other things to do on park days, or friends decide that the swimming pool sounds better than the sit-down meal.  So, changes will happen!

Janalee, you can make changes, without penalty to most dining reservations by logging in to your My Disney Experience account.  Hover over the “My Disney Experience” tab and select “My Plans & Tickets.”  Scroll down the page to find your reservation and select the “Change Reservation” box. Once you select that, you will be able to edit the number of people in your dining party.  Choose the same date, and you will see the times that are still available for the new party size that you have entered.  Select the time that you’d like and click “Continue.” Confirm your changes and select the “Book Now” tab and you will see the confirmation number of your new dining reservation!

Janalee, make sure you look at your plans on your My Disney Experience account after you make the changes to confirm that the reservation you were expecting shows up on your existing plans.

If you have any issues making the changes to your original reservation, don’t hesitate to call the dining reservations phone line and a friendly Cast Member will help you out!

Janalee, whether it's six friends or four friends, you will make some amazing memories on your upcoming trip to the magic!  Make sure you enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
