How do I get with a Disney travel agent?

    Hi Mandy,

Welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you are ready to book a magical Walt Disney World vacation for your family.

Because Walt Disney World offers so many resorts, theme parks, ticket packages and activities, it can be a little daunting to get started. If you want a full-service experience -- where a professional handles all the details for you -- then a travel agent may be the perfect choice for you.

To find a professional who is right for you, I always suggest asking friends and family if they have a trusted travel agent they can recommend. Or you can do an online search to find someone who specializes in Walt Disney World vacations. I would add "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner" or "Earmarked by Disney" to the search to find an independent agent who has been specially trained and certified by Disney.

It's a good idea to do a little research before you reach out to a travel agent so that you have at least a general idea of what kind of vacation you're looking to book.

I'd scan the descriptions of the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, the Special Offers for room and ticket packages, the list of dining experiences, and maybe the activities in the Enchanting Extras Collection that add even more magic to a vacation.

That way, you will be able to more easily answer the agent's questions about priorities and budget when you speak to them.

If, after your research, you decide you want to do the booking on your own, you can always turn to the cast members at the Walt Disney World Tickets & Hotel Reservations phone line for assistance.

And, of course, planDisney panelists are always here to offer guest-to-guest suggestions and recommendations, based on our years of experiences as Walt Disney World vacation

    Happy planning, Mandy!
